2B: Davey Lopes, Jim Gilliam, Steve Sax, Jeff Kent

Surprisingly, the team has yet to produce an outstanding first baseman in the past. As a result of Garvey’s high average and high RBI totals in his time, he was lauded for cotton candy stats. He played on numerous World Series teams during his 14 years with the Dodgers. Even though he lacked elite power when he came to LA, AGon was about as steady as they came. In his early years with LA, Bellinger spent a significant amount of time at first. The Dodgers have been fortunate to have him play first base for several years.

3B: Adrian Beltre, Justin Turner, Ron Cey

Sax, Lopes, and Gilliam are all known for their sparkplug qualities and strong defense. Historically, this is what a second baseman has been for most of baseball’s history. On the other hand, Kent is a polar opposite, as one of the best offensive threats to play second base in history. Kent generally hit around .280 with 20–25 bombs and 90-ish RBI while wearing a Dodger uniform.

SS: Corey Seager, Maury Wills, and Bill Russell have all done it.

Considering the depressed state of the offense during Cey’s time, his numbers don’t appear impressive. There is no question that Adrian Beltre’s 2004 version is the most impressive Dodger player of all time. Beltre’s achievement may never be surpassed again by a Dodger. With 48 HRs, 121 RBIs, and a Gold Glove in defense, Beltre hit .334 in 124 games. Due to Barry Bonds having the most impressive season of his career, he finished 2nd in league MVP voting. Anyone who has watched the Dodgers in the modern era knows how outstanding a hitter Justin Turner is. The Dodgers’ success over the past decade has been largely attributed to his contributions.

Please incorporate my comments about the best 2B into this text. In 1962, when Wills broke Ty Cobb’s single-season stolen base record, he won the NL MVP award. Regarding all-around shortstops, Seager has been the best for the Dodgers ever. He could make it into the Hall of Fame if he can remain reasonably healthy. Even if he moved to third base, Seager would still be an MVP candidate with outstanding hitting skills.

RP: Eric Gagne, Kenley Jansen

Suppose I say that out loud, it’s bound to get me skewered by Dodger fans. However, Kershaw has already had a far better career than Koufax and is the best pitcher in LA history. You have over a decade of elite pitching to Koufax’s five-plus years of World Series success. In addition to having great talent, Drysdale and Sutton had longevity. Meanwhile, Hershiser and Valenzuela showed some ability but different levels of staying power.

KJ: Kenley Jansen’s

This is hard to argue against Kenley Jansen’s status as the most excellent reliever in Dodger history. Over the past decade, he’s been a significantly above-average reliever for the Dodgers. In addition to being the Dodgers’ all-time saves leader, he is still going relatively strong at age 49. A perfect 55 out of 55 in an ideal season is arguably the record for a closer in three years. Nevertheless, Gagne is no more than his peak three years ago. Gagne must be included on this list in recognition of his electric dominance.
